Travel Itinerary

Day 1 - Overnight Train from Cairo to Luxor & East Bank Tour

Your Egyptian adventure begins with an evening pick‑up from your Cairo hotel. You’ll be transferred to Ramses Station to board a first‑class sleeper train bound for Luxor. Settle into your comfortable two‑berth compartment, enjoy dinner served in the dining car, and drift off to sleep as the train rolls south through the Nile Valley.

Arriving early in Luxor, you’ll meet your private guide and begin exploring the East Bank. First, the magnificent Karnak Temple – a vast complex of towering columns, obelisks, and sacred lakes that took over 2,000 years to complete. Then, walk along the Avenue of Sphinxes to the elegant Luxor Temple, built by Amenhotep III and later decorated by Ramesses II. After a delicious lunch at a quality local restaurant, you’ll have free time to explore the Luxor market or relax before an overnight stay in a Luxor hotel.

Day 2 - West Bank Tour & Return Train to Cairo

After breakfast, cross to the West Bank of the Nile – the ancient land of the dead. Your first stop is the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs were buried in richly decorated tombs carved deep into the limestone. You’ll visit three tombs, including those of Ramesses IV and Merneptah. Next, marvel at the remarkable Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a stunning terraced structure built into the cliffs. Finally, stand before the Colossi of Memnon – two 60‑foot‑high statues that once guarded the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.

After lunch, you’ll be transferred to Luxor station for the afternoon first‑class train back to Cairo. Enjoy dinner on board and arrive in Cairo the following morning, where you’ll be taken to your hotel, ending your two‑day journey through ancient Thebes.
