Karst Aways Krabi Small-Group Ao Thalane Mangrove Kayak Tour Escape the crowds and discover the peaceful waterways of Ao Thalane on an intimate guided kayaking adventure limited to only four guests per day, unless everyone belongs to the same private group. Karst Aways designs each departure around the tide, allowing guests to explore the mangrove channels, limestone canyons and hidden beaches when water conditions are at their best. The approximately five-hour experience moves at a relaxed pace and includes two rest stops. No previous kayaking experience is necessary; the guide provides instructions and a safety briefing before departure. With quiet surroundings and a very small group, guests have a better opportunity to observe monkeys, kingfishers, eagles, monitor lizards and other wildlife inhabiting the mangrove ecosystem. Tour Itinerary Hotel Pickup Your day begins with a prearranged pickup from your accommodation. Because departure times follow the tides, the operator will confirm your exact pickup time when the booking is finalized. Nong Thale Fishing Village Arrive at a quiet fishing village in the Nong Thale area and meet your guide at the pier. Receive a safety briefing and paddling instructions while the kayaks are prepared. Coffee and bakery snacks are served before entering the water. Ao Thalane Mangrove Forest Paddle upstream through calm mangrove channels surrounded by tropical vegetation. Travel quietly through the ecosystem while looking for macaque monkeys, kingfishers, eagles, monitor lizards and other native wildlife. Hidden White-Sand Beach Stop at a peaceful white-sand beach overlooking Thalane Bay. Take time to rest, enjoy the scenery and swim when water and weather conditions are suitable. Limestone Canyons Continue into Ao Thalane’s dramatic canyon system, paddling between towering limestone karsts rising above the narrow waterways. The quiet route is selected to provide additional privacy and avoid the busiest kayak groups whenever possible. Secluded Cove and Lunch Reach a hidden cove for the second rest stop. Relax on the beach, swim and enjoy a freshly prepared home-cooked meal in a peaceful natural setting. Return Paddle and Hotel Transfer Paddle back through the waterways before returning to the pier. After the equipment is collected, transportation is provided back to your accommodation.
